Decorative arts have an important place in the Turkish-Islamic world. Decorations were brought in together with architecture or independently. Metal, plaster, wood, binding, gilding and marbling are some of these decorative art forms. Our aim is to examine these arts in their own definitions, histories, developments, materials, techniques, and decorations and to present samples of the Turkish-Islamic period.
Studying the manufacturing centers, materials, techniques and ornamentation programs of the samples produced with wood, metal and plaster in the Turkish Islamic Decorative Arts in detail, describing these materials and referring to their short histories.
