Objectives of the Course

Decorative arts have an important place in the Turkish-Islamic world. Our aim is to examine works produced with glass, brick and stone ; these arts in their own definitions, histories, developments, materials, techniques, and decorations and to present samples of the Turkish-Islamic period.

Defining samples produced with glass, brick and stone material, their short histories, manufacturing centers, materials, techniques, ornamentation programs in the Turkish Islamic decorative arts.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to define glass, its short history, manufacturing centers, materials, techniques, ornamentation programs, produced samples in the Turkish Islamic decorative arts.
2.To be able to comprehend the place of glass and its usage in architecture in the Turkish Islamic Decorative Arts.
3.Learns the construction and decoration techniques of glass materials in the Turkish Islamic Decorative Arts.
4.Explains the use of stone material in Turkish İslamic Decoration Arts and its use in architecture.
5.Understands the interaction of glass, brick and stone materials with other cultures in Turkish İslamic Decoration Arts.
