Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to enable the student to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence required to recognise and interpret the origins and development of American drama, the dramatic movements in America from the 1900s to the present; to analyse the dramatic movements seen in America, to examine representative examples, and to develop a critical viewpoint.

The origins and development of American drama, the dramatic movements in America from the 1900s to the present, prominent American playwrights and their works are identified, analysed, and discussed.
