Objectives of the Course

To provide teaching the definition and scope of Turkish Islamic Literature; to introduce the basic concepts and methods of this literature; To provide literary pleasure and aesthetic awareness.

Course Content

The student taking this course learns, in general terms, the time and space boundaries of Turkish-Islamic Literature, the contents and genres of the works of this literature. At the same time, it positions this literature in a place in the general history of Turkish literature. Gains information about important names and works.

Learning Outcomes
1.The student explain the general characteristics of Turkish Islamic Literature.
2.The student lists the historical periods of Turkish Islamic Literature and the important writers in these periods.
3.The student analyzes the relationship between religion and literature.
4.The student produces ideas about the use of religious literary works in religious services.
5.The student evaluates the contribution of important writers and classical works of Turkish Islamic Literature to world literature.
6.The student makes an opinion about the type of works based on their subjects.
7.The student knows literary genres related to Allah and Prophet Muhammad; becomes aware of religious issues in literary works.
