It aims to gain knowledge about the historical course and development process by examining the concepts, subjects and sources of the History of Tafsir. In the 14-century historical course of the history of tafsir, it aims to introduce the content and method of the whole of the tafsir activities of important people, movements and schools that emerged due to the differences in the approach styles and principles of tafsir adopted by the commentators in the direction of understanding, explaining and interpreting the Qur'anic text in line with the problems and needs of the period.
In the History of Tafsir course, the basic information necessary for the understanding of the Qur'an is given and the fact that the source of the Qur'an is divine is taught to the students. The student was given information about the different trends that emerged in the understanding of the Qur'an by comprehending the reasons for the emergence of tafsir. Information on classical and modern tafsir movements was presented and strong bridges were established between both tafsir periods. Finally, basic information about the nature of the Qur'an and the different approaches, movements and schools in the direction of understanding and interpretation of the Qur'an have been covered.
