Objectives of the Course

To show the ways in which the problem of history has been discussed in philosophy and thus to grasp the philosophical aspect of historical knowledge.

Course Content

Discussing the entity of history on epistemological plane. Philosophical analysis of historical knowledge and reading important philosopher's selected texts on philosophy of history.

1.To understand the place of the concept of history in philosophical discussions.
2.Understands the starting point and general framework of the philosophy of history.
3.Can critically think on historical knowledge and make interpretations.
4.Acquires knowledge concerning the chronological approaches to history in philosophy of history.
5.Has knowlegde about particularly German Idealism by reading original texts of philosophy of history.
