Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to focus on the basic financial theories and tools needed for the macro investment field, including financial assets, time and uncertainty, risk and risk pricing, efficient market hypothesis and its debates, capital asset pricing models and its debates, arbitrage pricing theory, exchange rate theories and its debates.

Course Content

Investment, financing and dividend decisions, Valuation of cash flows, Risk, return, cost of capital, Asset pricing models: CAPM, APT, Capital budgeting and project valuation, Capital structure and firm value, Bankruptcy and financial distress, Tax and capital structure, Agency problems and capital structure, Asymmetric information and capital structure, Borrowing policy, Dividend policy, IPO process
