Objectives of the Course

This course aims to teach the international dimension of public economics and the effects of globalization on public policies. It enables students to analyze the impacts of international economic relations on public expenditures, taxation, income distribution, and social welfare. Global public goods, fiscal competition, economic integration, and the role of international organizations are examined. Furthermore, fiscal cooperation among countries and public policy responses to global economic challenges are evaluated.

Course Content

The course begins with the fundamental concepts of international public economics. The effects of globalization on public finance are examined. Topics such as global public goods, international externalities, and fiscal coordination are discussed. The impacts of tax competition, tax harmonization, and economic integration processes on public economics are evaluated. The economic policies of the World Bank, IMF, OECD, and other international organizations are analyzed. In addition, public policy responses to global challenges such as climate change, income inequality, and sustainable development are examined.
