Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to understand the importance of the scientific method and comprehend the process of scientific research, and to learn the important steps in writing a research paper.

Course Content

A general and historical evaluation of science and the scientific method, the distinction between natural sciences and social sciences, quantitative and qualitative social research methods, data collection techniques, the measurement and interpretation of data, formulation of research questions, theories, the development of a theoretical/conceptual framework, hypotheses and sub-hypotheses, the testing of hypotheses, and the fundamental stages of writing a research paper are addressed in this course.

1.To be able to define the basic concepts of scientific research.
2.To be able to comprehend and apply the scientific process of writing to a research proposal.
3.To be able to prepare the reports of scientific research proposals.
4. To be able to express the ideas and findings related to the subject of research effectively both orally and in writing
5. To be able to apply research methods and article writing techniques to write a scientific report
