Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to examine Türkiye–European Union relations from past to present through various perspectives, to discuss current issues, and to provide insights into the future of the relationship.

Course Content

This course examines the relations between Turkey and the European Union in terms of historical development, institutional structure, foreign policy, economy, migration, customs union, and the accession process. The course analyzes both areas of cooperation and disruptions in relations, while also discussing scenarios for the future.

Learning Outcomes

1.	Students may compare the different periods of relations between Türkiye and the EU.
2.	Students may learn that the current relations of Türkiye and the EU is a phase of Turkish modernization project.

5.	Students can present predictions and opinions about the future of Türkiye–EU relations.
