The course aims to analyze the importance and weight of the Middle East region in global politics from 19th century to the present. In the light of the knowledge gained in this context, it is aimed to provide students with the ability to evaluate current regional problems.
Historical and contemporary developments in the Middle East, the political transformation of the region since the Ottoman Empire, the socio-economic and socio-political structures of the countries in the region, the problems in the region, the interests and policies of extra-regional powers such as the EU, the USA, Russia and China on the region and the foreign policies of the countries in the region are the subjects of this course.
