Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to analyse the stages of civilization from hunting and gatering society to post industrial society.

Course Content

The stages of civilization like hunting and gatering, pastoral, agrarian, industrial and post indutrial societies will be analysed. Every stage and the transformation from one stage to next one will be discussed. It is important to understand the dynamics of this transformation process. The economic, political, social and ideological evolution of societies will be discussed. In addition to this theorethical framework, some spesific samples will be focused like ancient Eygpt, ancient Chine, Roman Empire. Also causes and results of agricultural and industrial revolutions will be discussed.
