Objectives of the Course

This course aims to shape the politics of Turkey in the post-1960 period and subject concepts are to consider the analytical framework.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, developments in Turkish political life after 1960 will be examined in an analytical framework and current concepts in political science literature. Topics to be discussed include the rise of leftist movements and political Islam, ethnic nationalism, extreme right, secularism, and military interventions.

1.To be ablet ot explain Turkey's modernization experience.
2.Turkey's discuss the secularization experience.
3. One of the main problems of Turkey's Kurdish problem and evaluate the discussion of ethnic violence.
4. Discuss the problems of democratization in Turkey.
5. Will be able to explain the ideologies and strategies of the political actors of the post-1980 period.
