Objectives of the Course

To teach a methodological approach to literary texts by giving information about the emergence grounds and functions of literary theory and criticism methods.

Course Content

Knowledge about the history of the emergence of literary criticism methods, their representative, and features. Information on determining which methods of criticism can be used to analyze literary texts.

Learning Outcomes
1.to be able to analyse the differences between the science of literature and the art of literature
2.to be able to recognise the science of literature, the main field of literature and realise the function of literature.
3.To have knowledge about the methods and theories of literary criticism and to evaluate literary texts on the axis of the criteria determined by the method.
4.to be able to analyse a literary text within the framework of sientific criteria as a scientist of literature.
5.To learn the concept of “literary theory”, to know the grounds of the emergence of theory and criticism methods, their representatives and their characteristics.
