The course on the History of Islamic Sects aims to provide an understanding of the origins, development processes, core doctrines, and historical impact of the political, theological, and jurisprudential sects that emerged throughout Islamic intellectual history. It seeks to enable students to evaluate the emergence of these sects within their proper historical context, comprehend the differences among them, and analyze the reflections of these differences in the contemporary Islamic world.
Religion-state relations in the Middle East geography are quite intense. The balance of politics, economy, social structure and regional relations largely depends on this. Understanding this rich network of relations, which are carried out through open and hidden sectarian agendas, will make a great contribution to the discipline of international relations.
