To penetrate contemporary bioethical problems and to develop an Islamic and ethical point of view, and to give an accurate methodology and interpretative skills in approaching bioethical issues.
Ethical, religious, legal and social problems arising from the developments in medicine and genetic technologies are discussed. Many problems such as euthanasia, dissection, abortion, research on human subjects, stem cell researches, withholding and withdrawing treatment, organ transplants, brain death and surrogacy are examined in this context. Thus, in addition to gaining method and perspective in finding solutions to modern bioethical problems, the bioethics literature in the Islamic and Western world is introduced to the students.
