Objectives of the Course

To provide students theoretical knowledge about different animal species in terms of diseases to teach general and special examination techniques; -Species-specific features of the examination system For accurate diagnosis and evaluation of different examination findings (radyographic, ultrasonographic etc) together to interpret and to teach differential diagnosis Laboratory and clinical findings specific to systems to teach the students how to interprete.

Learning Outcomes
1. To be able to take medical history and restraint of animals.
2. To be able to identify methods of injection and injection sites, principles of local and general anesthesia in domestic animals.
3.To be able to apply the general and special examination techniques in terms of different animal species.
4.To be able make examination of the species-specific characteristics of the systems.
5.To be able to make differential diagnosis by evaluating the findings of the different examination methods.
6.To be able to diagnose with the interpretation of laboratory findings and clinical signs.

Biosecurity practises, history-taking, identify physical appearance, restraint methods
Week 2 - Practice
Examination methods (inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation, tubing, smellling and measurement)
Week 3 - Practice
Examination of organs and regions (oral cavity, ear, eye)
Week 4 - Practice
Examination of organs and regions (neck, chest, abdomen, and male reproductive organs)
Week 5 - Practice
Examination of the extremities
Week 6 - Practice
Sedation and general anesthesia in domestic animals (cats, dogs, horses, cattle, sheep and goats)
Week 7 - Practice
Injection methods in domestic animals (subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous)
Week 8 - Practice
Systemic evaluation and implementation of practice chart applications with students on patient referred to clinics (appearance, habitus, history, inspection, palpation, auscultation, percussion, tubing, smelling)
Week 9 - Practice
Systemic evaluation and implementation of practice chart applications with students on patient referred to clinics (Custom Examination Methods: microscopic examination, diagnostic surgery, endoscopy, video diagnostic methods, etc.).
Week 10 - Practice
Systemic evaluation and implementation of practice chart applications with students on patient referred to clinics (body temperature control, examination of the lymph system, examination of the visible mucous membranes)
Week 11 - Practice
Systemic evaluation and implementation of practice chart applications with students on patient referred to clinics (examination of the respiratory system: pharynx, larynx, trachea, lungs, pleural cavity examination)
