Objectives of the Course

a. To teach the surgical diseases of different body systems and organs such as head, upper and lower jaw, ear, mouth, pharynx and larynx, esophagus, trachea, thorax, vertebral column, abdominal organs, urinary and male genital tract, hernias, anus and rectum b. To teach diagnosis and treatment of these surgical diseases.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to ocmprehend the surgical diseases of the relevant systems, tissues and organs in different animal species
2.To be able to diagnose these diseases according to clinical, laboratory and radiological examination findings.
3.To be able to identify the protective methods to prevent diseases
4.To be able to figure out surgical treatment alternatives for related surgical diseases of animals
5.To be able to grasp the application of these methods in clinical conditions

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
The aim of the course content and the presentation of information about course-related resources. Dermatitis, wounds, emphysema, the oedema, phlegmon, the acne and furunculosis reasons, findings and treatment options
Week 2 - Theoretical
The causes of facial paralysis and trigeminal paralysis, symptoms and treatment options, trismus cause diseases, and contusio commotion cerebri, intracranial brain hematoma ,the causes of oedema, degree, findings and treatment options
Week 3 - Theoretical
Pinna of the injuries and Phlegmon. Hematoma reasons, findings and treatment options. Anatomy of the external ear canal, examinations and foreign objects, otitis eksterna reasons, inflammation types, symptoms and treatment options.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Ear canal injuries, otitis media causes, symptoms and treatment options. Otitis interna, deafness and hearing difficulties. Nose causes bleeding, types and treatment options. Rhinitis surgical reasons, Parasıtes names
Week 5 - Theoretical
Sinusitis causes, symptoms and treatment options.Options of diagnosis and treatment of mandibula fracture Inflammation and dislocation of the jaw joint, inflammation of salivary glands, sores and fistula . Salivary channel retensiyon cysts, the clinical appearance and treatment of. Mouth cavity o foreign objects, inflammation, wounds and tumors
Week 6 - Theoretical
The tongue of inflammation, injury and paralysis. Farinks inflammation, foreign objects,injury, and the gathering of Phlegmon. Ozephagus wounds, stenosis types, causes and treatment fistuls. Larynx wounds, laryngitis, larynx edema, the etiology and treatment of goitre, Trachea wounds

Dental Medicine, periodontal disease, Tooth decay, and the fistula

Surgical diseases on thoraks area, hernia diafragmatica, cidago fistula and bursitisMidterm exam
Week 9 - Theoretical
Wound of the abdominal wall, and abscess Phlegmon clinical appearance,treatment, and complications of perforated abdominal wall wounds. Abdominal fistuls
Week 10 - Theoretical
Foreign bodıes in the stomach, the diagnosis and treatment, dilatation venticuli, volvulus of the stomach and toriyon. Foreign objects ın ıntestınes, diagnosis and treatment. İleus types, diagnosis and treatment, invagination, volvulus and torsiyon. Cattle disease and foreign objects in the right and left displacement of abomasum
Week 11 - Theoretical
Inguinal Hernia,abdominal Hernia,Umbilical Hernia,the perineal hernia causes,diagnosis and treatment.Anus and rectum wounds by small animal,rectum prolapsus findings and treathment options,rectal diverticulum,,inflammation of the anal sac.
Week 12 - Theoretical
Urinary system anaomy and examination methods,urinary bladder and urethra stones,aethiology,diagnosis and treatment,Cystitis ,Tumors and ruptures of urinary bladder,Ektopic ureter.
Week 13 - Theoretical
Orchitis, hydrocele, varycocele, hematocele, inflammation of the penis and preputium,fimosisparafimosis, penis wounds and tumors
Week 14 - Theoretical
Disease of liver and bile duct in dogs, definition, etiology, clinical appearance, medical and operative treatment of diseases
