Objectives of the Course

1. To teach advanced radiographic techniques, not included by the “veterinary radiology lecture” in different species of animals 2. To ensure the learning of diagnostic ultrasound technique according to systems 3. To provide the students to get ability for accurate diagnosis in direction of specific findings 4. To provide the basic knowledge for assessing scintigraphy, tomography and magnetic resonance findings

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to have a basic knowledge about modern, advanced radiology techniques and diagnostic ultrasonography and know how to use themAs a veterinary practitioner
2.To be able to comprehend the properties of contrast agents and their application techniques in small animal medicine, and know how to use the findings for diagnostic purposes in contrast radiography applied cases.
3.To be able to have basic information about the diagnostic ultrasound examination technique and necessary information on evaluation findings.
4.To be able to diagnose by laboratory and clinical findings together.
5.To be able to evaluate scintigraphy, tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings at the eterinary practitioner level.

The aim of the course content and the presentation of reference books.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Contrast medias: Properties, indication and contraindications, dangerous and side effects
Week 3 - Theoretical
Gastrointestinal Radiography 1: Plain and contrast radiographic techniques, indications and contraindications. Some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their interpratation
Week 4 - Theoretical
Gastrointestinal Radiography 2: Some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their interpratation
Week 5 - Theoretical
Respiratory System Radiography: Plain and contrast radiographic techniques, indications and contraindications. Some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their interpratation
Week 6 - Theoretical
Urinary System Radiography: Plain and contrast radiographic techniques, indications and contraindications. Some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their interpratation
Week 7 - Theoretical
Skeletal Radiography: Exposure techniques, some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their interpratation

Myelography and some other contrast radiographic techniques: Contrast tecniques for imaging spinal cord, indications and contraindications. Some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their explanation fistulography,arthrography,angiography, etc.

Introduction to ultrosonography: Ultrasound Pysics, principles, tecniques, tools and equipments, prob types, assesment of the image and terminology
Week 11 - Theoretical
Ultrasonographic Examination Technique: Patient preparation , systemic examination tecnique, advantages and disadvantages. Some normal and pathological findings on clinical case and their interpratation
