Objectives of the Course

Providing knowledge about basic concepts in earthquake and strong ground motion, dynamics of single degree of freedom systems. Get students gained ability to estimate dynamic soil properties and related parameters. Make students efficiently analyze soil liquefaction risk and seismic slope stability.

Course Content

The effects of dynamic loads on soil behavior, dynamics of single degree of freedom systems and introducing equation of motion, determining the soil parameters needed to revealing the dynamic behavior of soils, dynamic tests, soil amplification, liquefaction analyses and dynamic loads acting on retaining structures.
