The course focuses on teaching the foundation of architectural aspects based on structural design to provide insight into an integrative design process. It is designed specifically to provide an integrative overview of architectural and engineering design projects. The course aims to analyze the principles of architects, architectural designs and structural design for understanding the link between architecture and civil engineering. Student will learn the design considerations and philosophies for both architects and civil engineers. Students will become familiar with famous building designs and understand the affect of principles of architectural movements on structural evolution.
This course covers content and context of architectural and structural principles of design process and building/construction process and their integrative interactions. The course also encompasses the Introduction to the subjects such as; remarkable architects and their design philosophy and technical information behind their designs in terms of both architectural aspects and structural design issues.
