It is a necessity for the students to be equipped with certain values in order to cope with the individual and social uncertainties that change will bring. Therefore, besides the skills, values are also included in the curriculum. Thus, in the Social Studies Curriculum, it is aimed to gain the skills and values with the knowledge instead of transferring the information directly to the students.
Social Studies Curriculum; purpose, scope, learning-teaching process and measurement are built on four basic elements. The general objectives in the Social Studies Curriculum have been adopted through achievements within the framework of learning areas. In this context, the scope is organized in two dimensions; content size and cognitive dimension. The content that forms the basis of the scope consists of three main areas. They are knowledge, skill and value. In terms of these three areas, the achievements were organized in a total of seven learning areas. The gains in the learning areas are arranged to reflect the knowledge, skills and values; It is assumed that the value expression reflects the attitude.
