Objectives of the Course

To understand the developments in science and technology with a historical perspective and to discuss the effects of these developments on social life.

Course Content

The impact of science and technology on the past and present, the effects of science and technology on social change, the common scientific heritage of humanity, the famous Turkish and foreign scientists, the impact of life on contemporary scientific developments such as tissue and organ transplantation, nano-technology, gene technology, Turkish Patent Institute and patent rights, space and aeronautical studies.
