Objectives of the Course

The aim is to introduce students to the stages, musical genres, instruments and important representatives of Turkish music from Central Asia to the present day.

Course Content

This course explores how Turkish music has changed and developed from Central Asia to the present day. It examines how music has evolved over time alongside society and how it has been shaped in different eras. It also focuses on musical innovations during the Republican era, the emergence of genres such as arabesque and popular music, and the coexistence of traditional and modern music today.
