Objectives of the Course

To make students perceive the aesthetic values and the composition of arts and make students apply it. To introduce different kinds of art techniques and equipment and apply them. To make students comprehend the art movements and their styles and teach students how to analyze it.

Course Content

This course introduces basic painting conceptions and theories. Students therefore, can analyze a painting in terms of its period, technique, and context and have the ability to comprehend the art work visually and culturally. Students also practice different techniques and materials so that they can compare their art work to masters’ Works in order to find their individual voices and styles. That approach will enable students to perceive the art works as a unique way of expression.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to explain the design principles and elements of composition.
2.To be able to make experimental compositions as using light-medium-dark values.
3.To be able to establish good compositions and criticizing compositions.
4.To be able to comprehend aesthetic problems of artistic creation.
5. To be able to use acrylic technique considering the composition elements in a balanced way.
6.To be able to comprehend the space perception in a composition.
