Objectives of the Course

Recognition of piano and basic piano techniques and in accordance with individual development; The aim of this course is to make use of technical exercises and studies, examples of the works of Turkish and world composers, examples of educational music, piano literature and learning-teaching techniques to be used in the school music education.

Course Content

Recognizing the piano instrument, examining the usage areas and literature of the piano, with the position of the hands on the keyboard; wrist, arm and correct positioning of the body, left and fa keys to recognize and consolidate the single hand and two hand studies, the middle finger around the finger work on the keyboard, Burkard method to perform works according to the level.

Learning Outcomes
1.Knows the historical development of the piano.
2.Knows the correct posture and sitting positions on the piano.
3.Performs various exercises and sightings for the independence of the two hands.
4.Knows the methods to be followed in the study of studies and works.
5.Understand the parallel sequence and five-finger studies.
6.Performs applied studies on musical expression and sentence.
7.Plays Do Major, La Minor and Sol Major and Mi Minor scales arpeggios.
8.Plays etudes and works appropriate to the level

Week 1 - Theoretical
Piano basic behavior (sitting, hands and arms position).
Week 2 - Theoretical
Legato playing
Week 3 - Theoretical
Studies on the independence of the two hands.
Week 4 - Theoretical
In the opposite direction the sequence, five-finger studies.
Week 5 - Theoretical
Technical studies on the freedom of arms.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Parallel array and five-finger studies.
Week 7 - Theoretical
Midterm/Deciphering exercises, exercises related to subjects.

Exercises, studies and working methods of works. (Mid term)

Musical expression (piano, forte) and phrasing

Finger transitions, modes.

Scales and arpeggios in C and G Major, A and E minor.

Studies on reading the finger number.

Studies on phrasing

Final Sınavı/Reinforcement of the works and etudes in the period according to their technical and musical characteristics.
