Objectives of the Course

To learn about culture of Turkish and other music from world wide.

Course Content

The definition of human and culture, the birth of music with its cultural, social and philosophical dimensions, the concepts of içerisinde music ği and içerisinde culture,, the important functions of music and culture; development; and world music genre in Turkey, producing the music, the people who perform and listen, attitudes and behaviors required to demonstrate in the musical process; sound systems in music, basic elements of music, structure and development of music institutions in Turkey; the concept of aesthetics and beauty in music; music culture, Atatürk and Turkish Music Revolution, the importance of music education, functions.

1.To be able to comprehend human-music and music-culture relations.
2. To know the importance of music education in schools.
3.To be able to develop a perspective on the types of music (folk music, art music and popular music).

5.Knows the role of music as a cultural element in the development of the individual and society.
