Objectives of the Course

It’s aimed to develop performing skills with a group and through this developing musical sensibility, working in team, and through this contributing to the socio-cultural development of the society.

Course Content

Orchestra: Developing skills of comprehending, expressing, listening and creation through music. Similarities and differences between Turkish and Western music, the place of Turkish music in world music, musical sensitivity, thinking, vocalization and composition skills. Comprehending the universality of music as common language in the world, foundational concepts of music. Examples from Modern Turkish Music and universal music related to orchestra, the effective use of time, taking individual and group responsibility. Representing Turkey in national and international musical events, developing nationalism through music. Ataturk’s ideas and views about music. Chamber Music: Developing enjoyment in making music together, performing examples from Turkish and world music effectively suitable to their level, developing self abilities by working on hard parts of music together, developing co-operation skills. Performing songs taking their characteristics into consideration and giving a concert with studied repertoire
