Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to perform Turkish classical music works according to their structural characteristics, to create a repertoire of Turkish classical music works in different forms, modes, main maqams and at the level appropriate to the primary school curriculum, and also to develop the prospective music teacher's appreciation of Turkish music.

Course Content

Producing sound based on correct breathing, using the sound in the right place and with the right intonation, with the choir fused sound acquisition studies; Turkish classical music sound system and sound types; individual and collective work exhibits basic behaviors in vocalization; Improve your interpretation skills, choral culture and discipline wins, vocalizes Turkish art music works according to their structural features; in different forms, methods, makams creates a repertoire of Turkish classical music works suitable for the level.

Learning Outcomes
1.Can vocalize the maqams used in Traditional Turkish Art Music.
2.Can apply the rhythmic patterns (usul) used in Traditional Turkish Classical Music to choral music.
3.Can distinguish the differences of authority.
4.Can vocalize the major works of Traditional Turkish Art Music.
5.Can choose a tuning (Bolahenk, Yıldız, etc.) suitable for the structure of the choir according to the vocal range of the works to be performed.
6.Produces sound based on correct breathing.
7.She/he uses her/his voice in the right vocal position and with the right intonation.
8.Creates a repertoire of Turkish classical music works appropriate to the level in different forms, modes and modes.
9.Develops choir culture and discipline.
