This course covers how to use Orff instruments in education, their technical features, their application in school music, and the learning-teaching techniques of these instruments. This course aims at activities that will help students develop musical reading, listening and individual and group playing skills, as well as being able to sing polyphonic melodies that can be used in school music practices with Orff instruments, and to create a repertoire consisting of rhythm, movement and improvisation activities.
To have knowledge about Carl Orff and Orff Approach (formation, development, purpose); Getting to know Orff instruments; To know the properties of Orff instruments; To be able to sing simple single and polyphonic melodies with Orff instruments; To be able to use orff instruments as a general musical education tool; To be able to perform comprehensive polyphonic works with Orff instruments; To be able to use Orff instruments in sub-applications included in the Orff approach (accompaniment, dramatization, rhythm, movement, animation, etc.); To be able to improvise using Orff instruments; Developing and consolidating the ability to make music from Turkish and world music samples together by forming an Orff orchestra.
