Objectives of the Course

The course aims to familiarize students with the way of life in Turkey during the Prehistoric periods. In this context, starting from the Paleolithic Age, Mesolithic Age, Pottery Neolithic Period, settlement patterns, tool production,and subsistence economies will be given.

Course Content

Definition of Prehistory, the basic concepts and terms associated with Prehistory, Chronology of the prehistoric period in Anatolia, Anatolia during the prehistoric periods of the formation and properties of periodic and regional cultural groups, Anatolia and the size of the interactions between neighboring cultures, Anatolia in the period in course architecture, stone works, works in terra cotta and ceramic works, after the first general features and details are given according to cultural groups.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to know meaning the Prehistory and Prehistoric periods.
2. To learn about the history of prehistoric research in Anatolia and the Middle East.
3.To learn Anatolian Late Neolithiv cultures the basis of regions.
4.To learn Anatolian cultures of Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Pre Pottery Neolithic the basis of regions.
5.Material culture items produced within the scope of the course is to learn about periods.

Situation in our country, some geomorphological changes in expression of Anatolia on the map.
Week 5 - Theoretical
What is the Paleolithic Age? General characteristics of Paleolithic Age in Anatolia, explaining the major centers of discovery.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Anatolia in the Mesolithic Age. General features of the era, finds centers in Anatolia.
Week 7 - Theoretical
What is the PrePottery Neolithic? The general features of the Middle East Pre Pottery Neolithic Age, the terminology, distribution.
