The aim of the Nutrition Physiology and Metabolism course is to teach students how nutrients are processed in the body, the production and consumption of energy, the role of macro and micro nutrients in metabolism, and the relationship between nutrition and health. This course provides students with an in-depth understanding of how the body uses and stores nutrients.
The content of the Nutrition Physiology and Metabolism course covers the digestion, absorption, transport, and metabolism of essential nutrients. The course examines how carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals are utilized in the body and how energy balance is maintained. Additionally, it addresses metabolic pathways, the role of hormones in nutrient metabolism, and the physiological effects of various nutritional states (e.g., fasting, satiety, exercise).
