Objectives of the Course

To introduce main concepts and main subject areas in sociology. To provide a base for students in order to be able to think sociologically and make sociological analysis.

Course Content

To provide a base for students in order to be able to think sociologically and make sociological analysis. Be able to learn sociological perspective, sociological thinking and be able to develop a sociological perspective by using sociological concepts.

1.Be able to learn research topics and sub-fields of sociology
2.Be able to learn sociological perspective, sociological thinking
3.To learn about the intellectual and social conditions in which sociology emerged as a field of science.
4.Be able to learn some basic sociological concepts
5.Be able to learn sociological theories at a basic level and be able to look at social events and phenomena from the perspective of sociological theories.
6.Be able to have knowledge (in basic level) about research methods and methodology in sociology
