Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to give information about the area and scope of the sociology of migration; to analyze the process of migration and urbanization; to evaluate its impact and consequences of migration; to teach the theories of migration.

Course Content

What is migration? The meaning of migration; The social character of migration as a phenomenon and process; Theories of migration; Migration and urbanization-urbanity; The satellite cities after migration; Unplanned urbanization-new urbanization movements; Urban transformation projects; Migration and employment; Discussions of migration research examples.
