Objectives of the Course

The aims of this course are to look at and evaluate the development of sociology in Turkey since the end of Ottoman Empire; to discuss the affects of Western thoughts on sociology in Turkey; to evaluate the main ideas and approaches of Turkish sociologists and to discuss their contribution to sociology.

Course Content

The main objective of this course is to give students a knowledge and skill to evaluate approaches of Turkish sociologists.
