Objectives of the Course

The course explores the differences that come out in the basis of religious, ethnic, cultural, sexual identities and so on between the individuals and communities. In particular, globalization brought changes occur in societies and consequently increasing the differentiated identities, a thriving multi-faceted identities/cultures will be checking out. Course materials will address the question of how identity and culture are constituted, as well as aspects of identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, religion, class, and nationalism.

Course Content

The main focus points of the course are the components of culture, the ideological uses of the cultural phenomenon, culture and tradition, the ability of culture to produce social symbols, cultural rights and social identities, the construction of identities, new encounters and interactions based on culture and identity in the modern and post-modern process.
