Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce to the students the field of social anthropology with its historical background, theoretical approaches and methodology.

1.	The students express the contributions made by anthropological knowledge.
2.	Compare the differences between sociological and anthropological perspectives
3.	Consider the contribution that approaching man as being aware of anthropological perspective would help understand him
4.	Lay emphasis on the idea that cultural knowledge should be reflected on life practice.
5.	Express the different meanings of culture.
