Objectives of the Course

To teach the Arabic alphabet used in Ottoman Turkish, to teach reading and writing Ottoman Turkish texts, to teach Persian words and structures used in Ottoman Turkish.

Course Content

Explaining the Persian elements used in Ottoman Turkish, teaching Persian derived words and compound structures.

Learning Outcomes
1.Increasing the student's command of literary texts by teaching Persian prefixes and suffixes.
2.Teaching Persian phrases and increasing literacy knowledge on literary and historical texts.
3.Enabling the student to make comparisons on texts from different centuries and periods with the Persian word structures taught.
4.Increasing the student's practical skills by individually reading and analyzing printed texts.
5.Gaining the ability to write Turkish word-based texts written in Latin letters with the Ottoman alphabet.
