To develop sets of knowledge about the Turkish Folk Literature

Course Content

The evaluation of mental constructions, myths, “, and folk stories narrated since the first thinking process of the humanity based on the structure, form, meaning and functions.

Learning Outcomes
1.Gains the ability to perceive the relationships between information and concepts by acquiring new information and concepts about folk literature narratives that emerge in oral tradition works.
2.Gains the ability to access resources on Turkish folk narratives and benefit from these resources within the framework of scientific criteria.
3.Gains the ability to criticize and interpret the information acquired about Turkish folk narratives.
4.Learns the general characteristics of myths, legends, epics, folk tales and fairy tales.
5.Learns about the sources and development processes of myths, legends, epics, folk tales and fairy tales from Turkish folk narratives.
6.Based on the information obtained about the first thinking processes of humanity, the student acquires information about the formation of the oral culture environment and the folk narratives that emerged in the environment, and can interpret this information.
