To give information about the birth of the novel, the introduction of the novel genre to Turkish literature, concepts, and elements related to novel theory. To teach the analysis of narratives at the theoretical level by analyzing the novel and revealing the meanings in the deep structure by finding the basic themes and conflicts.
To give information about narrative techniques within the scope of novel theory and to show how these techniques are used by analyzing novels. To provide information about the concepts of “speed” and “distraction” in the novel by talking about the types of readers. To give information about autobiographical technique, autobiographical novel, letter technique, letter novel, summarizing technique, dialogue, internal dialogue, internal analysis, internal monologue, and stream of consciousness techniques. To give information about time and its functioning and functions in the narrative, anachronic time, analex, prolex, and to show the fictional use and functioning of time through the analysis of novels. To explain how the elements and concepts of novel theory and techniques are used through novel analysis by emphasizing their functions in novel fiction. To convey how the main conflicts and themes in the work are created in the narrative and how to identify them.
