Objectives of the Course

To make the students read the handwritten samples and the legends correctly; to learn how to transform the texts written in the Muslim Calendar into the Gregorian Calendar; to have knowledge about Ottoman currency; to be sensible of the differences between the writing variations and efemera types.

Course Content

Transformation of the texts written in the Muslim Calendar into the Gregorian Calendar; variations in Ottoman script; studying on the legends, charter of a waqf and other archive documents; having knowledge about Ottoman efemera.
