Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to to analyze American literature from its beginning in the seventeenth century and its development till the early nineteenth century by setting up a parallelism between the American history and American literature.

The idea and history of colonization, Early colonial period, Puritanism, Enlightenment, Transcendentalism and Romanticism.
