Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach the major concepts and principles of linguistics, to acquaint the students with the macro and micro aspects of the field, and provide the students with a general preparation for the courses that they will take throughout the program.

Course Content

In this course the basic branches of linguistics will be examined in terms of micro and macro levels. Furthermore, selected articles of the leading linguists will be studied and discussed.
