Objectives of the Course

The aim of the Labor and Social Security Law course is to teach students from different academic backgrounds the fundamental concepts of labor law and social security law, to convey the legal dimension of employer-employee relations and the functioning of social security systems, and to equip them with the ability to critically evaluate legal regulations in this field within the framework of ethics and social justice

Course Content

This course covers fundamental topics such as the definition and scope of labor law, rights and obligations in employer-employee relations, types of employment contracts and termination processes, working hours, and wage entitlements. It also addresses key concepts of social security, types of insurance, social assistance, social services, and the financing of the social security system. Current practices and developments in labor and social security law at both national and international levels are examined.

1.Learns the fundamental concepts, historical development, and scope of labour and social security law.
2.Analyzes the fundamental rights and obligations in employer-employee relationships and the types of employment contracts.
3.Evaluates the fundamental components of the social security system and the types of insurance.
4.Critically analyzes labour and social security law regulations from the perspective of ethics, social justice, and equality.
5.Follows current developments in national and international labour and social security law and makes comparative evaluations.
