Objectives of the Course

This course aims to enable students to understand the historical development, key concepts, and the structure, functions, and impacts of various types of international organizations. It also aims to develop students’ ability to analyze the role of international organizations in the global system and their influence on contemporary international relations.

Course Content

The concept and historical development of international organization; basic characteristics of international organizations; global organizations (League of Nations, United Nations, World Bank Group, WTO, IMF, NATO, EU, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS); current analyses based on selected organizations; the power of international organizations to influence global politics.

4.Analyzes the impact of international organizations on world order and international politics.
5.Understands the opportunities for cooperation at universal and regional levels.
6.Explains Turkey's membership and candidacy status in international organizations and its roles within these organizations.
7.Critically interprets the capacity of international organizations to influence global politics.
