Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to explain the development of methodological issues in economics in the historical process and to introduce the emergence of economics as a science and the scientific methods of economics. In this context, this course introduces the basic concepts, schools and approaches in economics.

Course Content

In this course, how the science of economics was born and the features that make economics a science will be explained. The differences and similarities of economics from other branches of science will be discussed from a scientific perspective. Therefore, science and basic scientific concepts and theories will be discussed. The change of economics will be explained with Adam Smith's work The Wealth of Nations, in which economics emerged as a branch of science. Finally, information will be given about the changing theories and rules of economics in the modern world.
