Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concept, historical development and basic principles of co-operatives. Students will be provided with an understanding of how co-operatives function socially, economically and culturally and their contribution to sustainable development will be emphasized. In addition, practical information on co-operative management and business administration will be given and successful co-operative examples will be examined to reinforce the theoretical knowledge of the students. The course aims to help students become conscious and effective individuals in the field of co-operatives.

Course Content

Starting from the definition and historical development of the concept of co-operatives, this course deals with the functioning, management and basic principles of co-operatives. The role and contribution of co-operatives from social, economic and cultural perspectives are examined. It also focuses on examples of successful co-operatives and their impact on sustainable development. The course is enriched with practical applications as well as theoretical knowledge.
