Core Subject Course. The aim of the Industrial Relations course is to provide students with knowledge of the historical development, key actors, and processes of labor-management relations. Within the scope of the course, students learn fundamental concepts such as trade unions, collective bargaining, industrial democracy, and social dialogue; and they acquire the ability to analyze the changing structure of industrial relations and the impact of digitalization. In addition, national and international models of industrial relations are examined through comparative analysis.
The Industrial Relations course examines the structure and dynamics of the relationships between workers, employers, and the state. Throughout the course, students learn about trade union organization, collective bargaining, strikes, and conciliation processes; and they develop an understanding of topics such as worker representation, social dialogue, and industrial democracy. Furthermore, the impacts of digitalization, globalization, and flexible forms of work on industrial relations are critically assessed.
