Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to develop students’ abilities to conduct research on a selected topic in the field of public finance, produce a scientific paper, work collaboratively in groups, and present their findings in an academic setting.

Course Content

In this course, students form groups of 4–5 people to prepare a seminar project on a topic of their choice within the field of public finance. Throughout the semester, they attend weekly advisor meetings to share progress and receive guidance. At the end of the semester, each group presents their work and receives feedback from peers and the instructor. After incorporating the feedback, they submit the final version of their seminar paper.

Topic selection and introduction to literature review: Clarification of research topics within groups.

Literature review and evaluation of sources: Preparing an initial bibliography.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Formulating the research question and developing the basic conceptual framework.

Data collection methods and project outline: Choosing a method and structuring subtopics.

Interim report presentation and initial evaluation: Sharing progress with the advisor.

Writing process: Drafting the introduction and theoretical background sections.
