The aim of this course is to examine the fundamental principles and applications of public choice theory, and to conduct an economic analysis of public decisions. Students will acquire the theoretical knowledge and analytical tools necessary to understand how individuals and groups influence public policies.
This course covers the basic concepts and models of public choice theory. Topics include rational choice theory, voting behavior, analysis of political institutions, provision of public goods, and the economic role of government. The course will also examine practical applications and critiques of public choice theory.
